Celebrity Home - Cameron Diaz

Let's take a look into another celebrity home, this time it's actress Cameron Diaz.

Cameron enlisted the services of one of my favourite designers, Kelly Wearstler to renovated her Manhattan West Village apartment.
And I think it's safe to say it has been designed in true Wearstler style!

 Living Room
Swivel armchair by window, vintage cocktail table and stools and customer wall coverings and rug.
My takeaway - the Murano glass chandelier

  Dining Room
Custom made parchment and brass dining table
My takeaway - the 1960's Spanish chandelier

 Kitchen
Green brass trimmed lacquered cabinetry - this is one unique kitchen.
My takeaway - Ooh it's a toss up between the glass chandelier and the backsplash

 Master Bedroom
Stylish ruched bedframe, silk wall coverings and  gilded paper on the ceiling.
My takeaway - that plush mohair chair!

 Master Bath
Just take this in for a moment as I can imagine some reading this will not be a fan of the bathroom.
But it is what it is and that is true Kelly style. The walls are sheathed in glass tiles give it that glam look.
My takeaway - adoring the vanity.

 Guest Bedroom
Custom made brass four-poster bed and intricate detailing on the ceiling.
My takeaway - Love the ceramic garden stool.

Guest Bath
The bath, walls and vanity top and sink all pink Onyx with brass finishes.
My takeaway - I love the shower stall!

You can see my clear takeaway from most rooms is the lighting, such great choices.

Kelly Wearstler Headquarters

Jealous is the word that comes to mind here!
There's a story on Refinery29 that takes us inside the headquarters of Designer
(both interiors and fashion) of Kelly Wearstler and introduces us to not only the to-die-for
working space but some the very lucky people that get to work with her at KW HQ!
This would be my absolute dream to work with such a talented and creative women.

Where I want to stay...Los Angeles

Next time I go to Los Angeles is The Avalon Hotel which was recently refurbished by my design icon, Kelly Wearstler.

Kelly is very well known for her Hollywood Regency style, but she has now moved onto to a new style. It's feeling a little like 80's reinvention or ispiration but I love it, it's very cool.

Who wants to come with me??

Book Of The Week - Kelly Wearstler

image via amazon

Ok, so I might be a little Kelly focussed at the moment and whilst I love her new work and her new book Hue, I still can't go past one of my all time favourite books in my collection "Modern Glamour". If you haven't read it, you must!

Choosing the paint colours

It's been a crazy week at work but I now have time to finalise the paint colours. This, I thought wouldn't be too hard.....wrong!

The upstairs is fine. The main bedroom will be a beautiful pale grey, Resene - Double Concrete and the second bedroom will be a beautiful pale blue Dulux - Pre School Half. Both rooms will have beautiful crisp white trims.

The challenge has been the white for downstairs and all other spots of the house. So these are my choices Dulux whites - Whisper White or Lexicon Quarter or Antique White USA. I thought Whisper White as that is the colour we used to paint the store at work and it looks lovely. Lexicon Quarter because I saw an image that Greg Natale did and it look amazing. Antique White USA because it is so well known and widely used, however part of me feels it's a safe white! I'm edgeing towards Lexicon Quarter because I want the crisp, fresh white that will look fantastic with my yellow accent colour.

My inspiration for the living area has come from the great Ivy Bar in Sydney and from The Viceroy Hotel in Palm Springs, designed by the amazing Kelly Wearstler.
