Last Minute with Montana

You know I love travel and many of you do too right?

A gorgeous friend of mine has made this short video as her entry into
the lastminute.com Spontaneity Ambassador competition.

And I have to say she is the perfect candidate for sure!
Montana left the comforts of home, friends and family here on the
Gold Coast and is now living life in London.
Of course while there she has been exploring more of what the world has to offer!

She needs as many views as possible so if you can please have a look,
(even put it on repeat lol) and share that would be great.

Good luck Montana, you're living the life beautiful girl xx

A day in Sydney

One of the reasons I wanted to move back over East to Queensland is so I was closer to my friends in Melbourne and Sydney and that hopping on a plane for a day in Sydney is a total possibility. That's exactly what I did on Sunday. A Melbourne friend of mine is in Sydney for a couple of weeks so I thought what a great chance to pop down and catch up with her and some Sydney friends. I love only being an hour plane ride away!

We started our day with a morning brunch at The Grounds of Alexandria. I've posted about it before here but it has changed a little since I was last here at the beginning of the year. The market stalls have grown as has the number of people there. You can get anything you want here - fruit, vegetables, meat, pastries, flowers. You can sit inside and have an amazing meal or grab a take away and sit outside in gorgeous surroundings.

After our morning at The Grounds we headed out to soak up some more sunshine at the beautiful Watsons Bay. So, so nice to spend a Sunday afternoon relaxing here ...

We finished our day with dinner at The Fish Shop in Potts Point (sorry no pics). I love the classic fish and chips but there's lots of yummy dishes to choose from and it's a great little spot.

Thanks to my girls for a great trip, it was so worth it. Can't wait to do it again soon xx

Bangkok

I arrived back from Bangkok this weekend and what an experience it was!

I'm very lucky I travelled with work which is always a very nice experience,
if I hadn't I don't know what my reaction to Bangkok would have been.

My personal opinion is Bangkok is not quite for me!
The people where absolutely lovely, amazing service but the place itself - I'm not quite a fan.
But in saying that, I'd like to share some of my highlights of my trip to Bangkok ...

We stayed at the Peninsula Hotel (above), which was just gorgeous.
Half of our team where across the river at The Mandarin Oriental so over 2 days,
we had to cross back and forth over the Chao Phraya River on the boats (below)
between the 2 hotels.

Shortly after this photo was taken the heavens opened and it bucketed down.
It was crazy rain!

The view from my room on the 32nd floor looking across the Chao Phraya River
to the Bangkok skyline.

On the second evening, we were treated to a tour and dinner at The Siam Hotel
I apologise, my photo's do not do it justice, this place was ah-mazing!
The hotel is owned by the Sukosol family, dubbed the musical hoteliers of Thailand.
The son, Krissida is a singer and actor and the Creative Director of the hotels and is
responsible for this luxury urban resort in Bangkok.

This villa was stunning with it's own plunge pool.
For only about $1,000 AUD a night you can stay here (totally worth it if you can I say).
I fell in love with the bathrooms, seriously so cool!

Our dining room for dinner which was beautiful.

On the last evening we were treated to another beautiful dinner full of entertainment.

The food and dining presentation was so pretty.

I hate this photo of me (blurgh) but I fell in love with these puppets.
They entertained us as our dinner finished.
Each puppet handled by 3 people did a little dance and had great interaction with the audience.

Sa-wat-dee Kah
(hello in Thai)

... a word I heard very often as the people of Bangkok are so hospitable, so polite and just lovely.

Have you been to Bangkok? What's been your experience there?

A Travel Must Read

I have been reading this great series since it started on the the blog

Hong Kong

It is a beautiful series that describes in great detail places around the world including
what to see, where to stay, what to eat and essentials to pack all accompanied by beautiful images.

Bora Bora
Gelato in Italy
Barcelona, Spain
Paris, France
Paris, France
Venice, Italy

Maybe it's because of this I decided to go ahead and continue my travels.
The story on Mykonos has definitely increased my excitement (if that were possible)

Mykonos, Greece

Some of my other favourite posts {although hard to decide} are :

Take Me Away No 22 ~ what to pack for paris
Take Me Away No 21 ~ city guides no 1 : paris

If you are planning or even just dreaming of some travels, you could and
should spend hours reading this series.

But be aware ... severe addiction may occur!

Enjoy

Time for a holiday ...

Very excited as this week I confirmed that I'm heading off on holidays.
I travel quite a bit, but it us usually for work.
But this holiday is for just pure pleasure and relaxation.
In September I'll meet up with a friend in Paris for a few days and
then we will head off to Mykonos.

I've been to Paris before but have been craving to head back again and
Mykonos, I've never been but always wanted too.
I cannot wait to spend my days by the pool drinking cocktails
and wandering endlessly through the beautiful town of Mykonos.

Naturally the travel itself is unbelievably fun but gosh so is the planning ...
LOVE the planning process!

Makes working so hard day to day all so worth it !!

Where I Want to Stay ... Hawaii

I'm tired! So tired.
All I feel like doing at the moment is to go away for a week to somewhere there is a beach!
A nice resort with beautiful pools where all I have to worry about is eating, sleeping and swimming.

As I started to look into this, I came across this gorgeous hotel in Hawaii,
The Modern Honolulu which sounds and looks like perfection to me.

You  know you're in Hawaii when you have a cluster of surfboards facing you as you check in

Beautiful white crisp and calm rooms that face the ocean

Of course you need a pop of Hawaiian colour in the room

Most of my  time would be spent here and ....

here ....

So where is it that you would like to take off to now to have a relaxing holiday?
