Signature Prints

When I was studying interior design I did one of my research assignments on Florence Broadhurst. I fell in love with her textiles and wallpaper and also along with her pretty amazing life story. Florence Broadhurst was a complex, ecentric, talented lady who was born in Queensland in 1899. Her life story is really fascinating, you can read more about it here.

Here are just some of her wonderful designs.

Two words I love.....

ANNUAL LEAVE

I know simple, isn't it! But gee I love it. As of 2 and a half hours ago a glorious 3 weeks of annual leave began for me. And I'm not shy to say I deserve it because....well I do! People think my job is easy, not hard.......oh how I laugh!! I work with some great people and for a good company but I am extremely ready for 3 weeks of nothing....

So what nothingness am I going to be doing? Well let's see.....

Heading down to the gorgeous beach town of Byron Bay, I love beach towns in Winter

Catching up on the goss with friends

while drinking a bit (or alot) of this

A holiday isn't about being productive, so I can happily blog away all day

horse riding on the beach

curling up to read some books and magazines or have afternoon naps

along with some shopping, eating lots of beautiful local Byron Bay organic food and going to the Bangalow Markets

Will keep in touch while I'm away and share some pics of this beautiful part of Australia

Ski Lodge - Falls Creek

It's winter here down under and whilst I live on the Gold Coast where the winter weather is gorgeous and sunny, I thought it was a good time to look at what some real winter wonders Australia has to offer. One of these is Falls Creek, Victoria. When I was 21 I spent a season working in Falls Creek and it was great! It's a different lifestyle completely but when you're 21, it's pretty fun!!

I found this gorgeous lodge in Falls called Fjall Ski Lodge designed by one of my favourite design firms Hecker Phelan Guthrie Interior Designers. This is somewhat different to the digs I occupied when I was there but if I were to go back, yeah I'll stay here thanks!

Lusting after a pendant light like these......

These are fantastic, I would love to put one of these in my place but they just wouldn't look quite right with my current scheme. Oh well, I'll have to start planning for my next place and these beautiful metal or glass orb pendants are a great jumping off point!

I love the glass version too

Lovin' this office today

And I'll love it tomorrow and the next and the next and so on......

This is the home office space og Louise over at Table Tonic and now I know why her blog is so inspirational because she writes it from here.

So much I love - the orange print with the fedora hat (love that), the pink detail on the desk, the clock, little posey of flowers, the rug and how cool is that chair?

I'm very inspired now to getting my little office nook done now.

And there sitting on the shelf saying "buy me, buy me" was.....no not a Birkin!!!! But the orange Hermes blanket. I've posted before that this is a must have item that I must get and I am so determined now to stash away some $$ so I can get it. And yes, I am totally getting the orange and maybe a grey......
is that pushing it?

See 2 Hermes blankets isn't excessive!

The Brooklyn Home Co.

I love this company The Brooklyn Home Co. It is a family run cooperative of artists and builders who create fantastic living spaces in Brooklyn. I love all they do and all they stand for. This would be my dream business!

The style of their work is perhaps somewhat different to what I am normally drawn too but I like the mix up of styles, furniture and textures.

If I lived in Paris ......

My apartment would look like this on the outside

The entrance to greet you

This would be the view from my office as a I blog away

The perfect outfit to get around Paris in

On this

One of the living spaces would look like this

and the other like this

I would finally get my little French Bulldog

This is what one bedroom would look like

And the other one would look like this,
I would alternate nights just so I could sleep in both!

This is where I would pamper myself
