Finally....

But gosh I deserve a day to catch up on all  my fave blogs and do some blogging of my own finally!

Update, I'm settling in well to Cairns. Work is great, my team are super lovely. Yesterday I went to take a look at the apartment I want to rent and I love it! Just waiting on the current tenant to move out so hopefully in a couple more weeks I will be out of the hotel and into my own place. It is like a luxury resort with 5, yes 5 pools and they are divine (the kids are going to love them whe they come for holidays). Can' wait to share photo's of it with you all.

The time is now...

I'm here trying to pack my bag. Everyone thinks I'm crazy for leaving it until such last minute but I'm ok with it! I'm getting to the point though where I'm just throwing everything in and whatever I don't have, oh well I can buy once I get there! 

In case you missed something or are new to my blog... I'm packing for a move to Cairns. I can't believe the time has come. I'm excited actually. Looking forward to the change in life and the next step in my career. 

I'm not sad to leave my first little place yet as I have decided to go up for 4 weeks as the company is putting me up in accomodation while I find my own place and once I have done that, I will return to the Gold Coast to pack up my house. I also feel this is the easiest way for me to transition. 

One thing I can't wait to do though is back to my normal blogging! Gosh I miss it and hopefully once I get to Cairns, things will settle pretty quickly and I can continue to blog properly.

A little Louis...

Phew, I'm back! What a very full on last few days but it was great. Now onto the packing..... urgh....

So what's inspiring me to start my packing? Louis Vuitton of course. We know I am a very big fan of a bit of Louis and I love nothing more to see some LV in a house. Now I do need to state that the beautiful pieces created by Louis Vuitton are not designed for "coffee tables" etc, they are actual, useable trunks and should be continued to be used as such where possible.

However I also classify all Louis Vuitton products as works of art, the craftsmanship and detailing is beyond exceptional.

One day, I will have a LV trunk in my house (or maybe a few) !

Weekend of Bazaar Stingray's!

I'm signing off for the week a little early. I have 30 of my work colleagues arriving on the Gold Coast this weekend ready for a 3 day conference on Monday. Looking forward to seeing everyone as we all get along really well, should be fun.

One place I will be taking them to is the very revamped Gold Coast International (GCI) hotel - now called QT Gold Coast. GCI has been around on the Gold Coast for years and was in dire need of a revamp. The restaurant, bar and foyer have been completed and I was super impressed when I went there for breakfast this week. This is a huge thing for the Gold Coast as we don't really have anything like this (Gold Coast is a little backwards in terms of commercial design). 

They even state themselves "a designer hotel haven unlike anything Surfers Paradise has seen before" and I strongly agree. 

This is Bazaar, no ordinary hotel restaurant. I've only been for breakfast and I was so impressed with the buffet available, it was truly delicious and as presentation is everything - was amazing. A friend of mine has had dinner there and also said it was fantastic. 

This is Stingray Bar - a sophisticated refuge from Surfers Paradise. They call this our local Californian Baja lounge. Haven't been here yet but I think I'll take a friend here on the weekend.

I'm looking forward to spending some more time here before I move to Cairns (eek one more week til that too)

On another note, I'm getting my hair permanently straightened tomorrow, sooo excited. 

It's a lovely gift from the girls (and boys) at work as a farewell gift. After 7 years they sure know me well :) Has anyone had it done? I hope it lasts for awhile!

A touch of black... ?

Is it just me but when you just think you've finished in a room, you see something that inspires you to make more changes?? Thanks must go to Ms Jen at Made By Girl, as her new guest room has inspired me to add some black to my bedroom.... I haven't stopped thinking about it since Friday!

What a day...

Ok, so I know we aren't huge fans of somewhat depressing posts but you know sometimes you just gotta get it out. 

I've had a really bad day, actually make it week! You know when sometimes your best is just not good enough? You try to do the best for people and do your best to understand their situations and circumstances but then there are people who just will never see or even to try to understand the efforts you put in.

I know, I'm not responsible for how other people feel or react to situations but ...

And why is it that when something on a not so positive side raises it's ugly head, you really only ask yourself what did I do wrong? How could I have done it better? Which are good questions to ask but why don't we start to ask the question well what do I feel I did well in this situation first? 

I'm sorry to babble and even though I feel like curling up in a little ball and locking myself away for a couple of days, tomorrow is another, I have to get up, face the day and deal with what comes before me.

Please Friday be a better day!
