A Fashionably {late} Wednesday
Today I am feeling very Missoni. So who best to include than another one of my style icons, Margherita Missoni.
Missoni Rugs
I love it when my friends give me inspiration, it's the best kind!
It's quite obvious but I'm a neutral girl, give me white, grey, black and I'm a happy girl - but don't forget my pop of yellow. So it may come as a surprise that I adore Missoni home, it's (usually) so colourful.

And the last rug is the one that has inpsired me. I could very happily have each one of these rugs plus many more, aren't they gorgeous?
Congrats on your new purchase Chez, I am beyond jealous x

My First Little Place turns 1
One year ago today, I started this little blog called My First Little Place! What a year it has been. I had no idea when I started this blog where it would take me. To celebrate my first year of blogging, I wanted to share some of my thoughts on it.

So why did I start blogging? Well, I bought a house! And with friends interstate and overseas, I wanted to keep them updated on my renovation progress. But then I started to find some really beautiful blogs that really inspired me and 'met' lots of other bloggers who have the same obsession with interiors and pretty things. It also gives me space from my day job, allow me to escape into another world for a little while.

What makes me stalk a blog? Simple, it has to grab me within the first few posts. It has to be interesting for me to look at. I like it best if it has a topic or if it has lots of images and inspirational sayings. What I've found very interesting is when you come across a blog with hundreds of followers, everyone loves it but it just doesn't grab me. I guess that's why there are gazillion blogs out there, something for everyone. And that is why I am unbelievably grateful and full of happiness when people follow my blog or leave me comments. If your blog is on my blog roll, it means I LOVE your blog and it provides me with huge amounts of design (both interiors + fashion) inspiration. And I thank you.
My highlights for my fiirst year as a blogger was when Nicole over at Sketch 42 asked me to guest blog. And I did a series on blogger homes where I asked a number of my fave bloggers to show us inside their own homes (thank you ladies)
My 5 favourite posts have been :
Beautiful home of Jenna Lyons
If I lived in Paris...
Photographer Style : Ben Watts
A Great Coffee Table
Simply Elegant
The White House
Celebrity Home : Sofia Coppola

I thank you for reading my blog, I am truly honoured. I look forward to my second year of hopefully bringing you a finished house, a new change for me in the near future, some inspiration and a new little series I might ask some of you to help me with. Most of all I look forward to being able to meet more of you who share the same love of design.

I'm going to see Oprah!
As you may know, Oprah is coming to Australia! At the beginning of the month you had to enter your name for the lottery for tickets to her show, and guess what I GOT TICKETS!!! At first I was like oh ok, I'm sure heaps of people got tickets but as the day has evolved and I have look into it more, not too many people did. There were 3,000 tickets available and I won - wow. I don't usually win stuff and this is a pretty great one to win.
So on December 14th I'm going to the "Oprah" house to see Oprah. Sorry if you don't get that little joke there, but she is doing her show at the infamous Opera House in Sydney.

Where I want to stay... Palm Springs
Beautiful DIY
Another beautiful DIY! I am all over DIY jobs at the moment and have found so many to share.
Today's is the super gorgeous Anna at Lona De Anna and the lamp she gave a new life. Check it here.

Anna picked up this fabric at Spotlight (I know right, Spotlight), so I had to get over there and got some in the orange and the blue. And to answer your question Anna, I've done nothing with them yet!! But I'm thinking to make a couple of cushions with the blue, what do you think?
Thanks for the inspiration Miss Anna xx

A Fashionable Wednesday
Maybe it's the old The OC fan in me but yes, I like Rachel Bilsons style. She's so cute but has really defined what her own style is and I think she's got it together. Comfy chic by day but she also looks fab fro the evening.
She does the casual little summer dress so well

Topanga Canyon Casa
Have you ever come across something that kind of jumps out at you but you just can't quite figure out why? Well I recently come upon this house tour of a modern cabin and it is really appealing to me yet I can't pin point exactly why. So I thought I'd share as when I post, I gain more clarity...
Adore these colour coded books! Note to self - buy more books!
Hello chair! Of course I love this, it's yellow and white!
In what is quite a modern renovation of the cabin there remains this rustic bedroom. I really like the picture above the bed.

So pretty - the white, tulip table, outdoor blue chairs with the concrete floor...
Yeah I like it, it's kind of quirky but not in an annoying way!

Wooden Bathroom Floors
There's something about wooden floors in a bathroom that I love. I had my first experience with wooden floors in the bathroom when I satyed at Hotel Lindrum in Melbourne a couple of years ago and I loved them.
They look so sophisticated and add some warmth and texture to a bathroom. And they can work in a rustic traditional bathroom but also in a modern more contemporary bathroom. Ok so not as practical as tile but you know what, who cares they look great ;)
