So random, but I love it

Are you a Ryan Gosling fan?? If you've seen The Notebook, there is no doubt you would be.

I've just come across this really random and somewhat very pointless tumblr that has entertained me on this Sunday evening. It's funny. It really is only funny for Ryan Gosling fans if you watch this first (thanks Aubrey Road) - click here and watch it all the way through I think there's 3 parts...

And now have a look at this tumblr - Fuck Yeah! Ryan Gosling.

He looks gorgeous here

Ha,ha cuddle city...

I love that he can laugh at himself and he is still so adorable, can't wait to see Blue Valentine.

Hey girl....

Beautiful DIY

I've just come across this great lampshade idea over at Ruby Rhino in which she got from Living etc.

What a great idea particularly when you can't find what you're looking for but also when you don't want to pay big bucks for a beautiful lampshade!

Movie Love : Black Swan

Black Swan started today in Australia but I was lucky enough to view it last week. I love this film! Not only because of the ballet in it but because it's a good story and very well played out. It's a movie that keeps you on your toes - excuse the pun!

Thank you...

To lovely Anita at A Dreamer's Den for the Stylish Blogger Award.

It is so thrilling to know people love reading your blog and am honoured to get such recognition.
The challenge is to share 7 things about myself! I looked for things about myself that I haven't shared on my blog before. Here goes...

1. I was born in Adelaide, South Australia. Lived in Melbourne, Victoria. Now live on the Gold Coast, Queensland. But soon to move too.....???

2. I love to travel (ok maybe I've shared this before) and I am currently craving to travel somewhere right now. So far I have visited Paris, Barcelona, London, Tokyo, LA, San Diego, Hawaii, Queenstown and all over our beautiful country too. Where to next...

3. When I was younger, I dreamt of being a dancer and being on the stage. Whilst I did my dance classes, participated in a number of performances and even travelled to America to perform, I gave up on the dream as I got older. I now watch and admire from a distance...

4. I love the beach and love to live in the close vicinity of the beach. The feeling the beach brings is simply sublime, you can't help but feel good...

5. I'm a bag lady! You're either shoes or bags and I am hands down bags! But they must be of beautiful style and quality which is usually accompanied by a hefty price tag and usually a brand name, but I love them. They can completely make or break and outfit...

6. I have extremely curly hair! Therefore my best friend is my GHD...

7. And I'm a total night owl...

I now want to pass on this Stylish Blog Award to a couple of friends who have joined blogland recently but also to thank some bloggers who follow me, what more can I do to say thanks.

A touch of Tolix

The Tolix chair is a great option to use both inside and out. First designed in 1934 by Xavier Pauchard with the orinigal use for hospitals, factories, offices and public parks. Today you can buy vintage Tolix (if you can find) or there are some great replica's and they are making their way as a stylish statement into a number of different spaces.

I have considered this as my extra 2 dining chairs, but I'm actually thinking more for outside for me in a bright colour. Surprisingly not yellow but in another colour for the outdoors.

And so it does ...

No matter what we face in life, the below is true.

Very much so for our felllow Queenslanders today. Even though the flood levels are still unbelieveably high, some people have been able to get in little boats and float down their streets and see the level of water at their homes. From what I have seen this morning it is devastating and am overwhelmed at the clean up they now face. The clean up is beyond imagineable and for people to build that safe, home environment for their families again.

At a time like this something has to be said for the architecture of the Queenslander homes, many of which are still standing in Brisbane. As modern architecture has become more popular it is still important to know that the Queenslander style homes are still being built and heritage groups are working hard to have many older ones prevented from being torn down.
Not only are they gorgeous in appearance, they are also a very practical design.

They are a large timber structures built on stumps with extensive deep verandahs. The climate was the main reason for the Queenslander being built. Being up on stumps, it alllows the air to flow through under the house meaning the heat is not retained in the home therefore offering respite from the heat. As times have moved on, many Queenslander homes have now converted the lower area to gain more living space.

And I guess faced with the current flooding, this type of home has helped somewhat in preventing the amount of damage done to homes.
