A Fashionable Wednesday

Maybe it's the old The OC fan in me but yes, I like Rachel Bilsons style. She's so cute but has really defined what her own style is and I think she's got it together. Comfy chic by day but she also looks fab fro the evening.

Have you ever come across something that kind of jumps out at you but you just can't quite figure out why? Well I recently come upon this house tour of a modern cabin and it is really appealing to me yet I can't pin point exactly why. So I thought I'd share as when I post, I gain more clarity...

In what is quite a modern renovation of the cabin there remains this rustic bedroom. I really like the picture above the bed.

Yeah I like it, it's kind of quirky but not in an annoying way!

Wooden Bathroom Floors

There's something about wooden floors in a bathroom that I love. I had my first experience with wooden floors in the bathroom when I satyed at Hotel Lindrum in Melbourne a couple of years ago and I loved them.

They look so sophisticated and add some warmth and texture to a bathroom. And they can work in a rustic traditional bathroom but also in a modern more contemporary bathroom. Ok so not as practical as tile but you know what, who cares they look great ;)

I love the juxtaposition of the wood against the slick white surfaces

Lots of different materials here but I like it

Parquetry also looks good and I like it against the black and white rug

Happy Halloween

Halloween isn't a huge deal here in Australia but my little niece is off trick or treating tonight dressed as a (gorgeous) little devil and she is very excited.

Also pop over to The Cherry Blossom Girl where the girls have dressed up as disney villains, they look great.

Is a Featherston Contour Chair R160!

I think it would look perfect in my living area. I love it's simplicity and it's clean lines.

The story of how the Featherston came about is actaully quite interesting. It was designed in 1951 by Australian Grant Featherston. One day as he was sitting on a tram, Featherston was fiddling around with his ticket. He folded the ticket in such a way that when the two ends met, it created an interesting curve. The curved ticket became the basis of his iconic Featherston's series of chairs and lounges. Don't you love where inspiration can come from?

I love the blue one but I would have to go for the simplicity of white in my space.

Back from NZ

I've just got back from spending a few days in Queenstown, New Zealand. Even though I was there for work I did manage to have a brilliant time in this amazingly gorgeous place. Queenstown would be a perfect place to have maybe my third holiday house, just hop over there for a few weeks/months to just relax and enjoy the amazing surroundings {i wish}

We went on the jetboats (you can see our little red boat there) which is a must do if you venture to Queenstown. It's not scary but alot of fun and the scenery is unbelievable.

And this is me! I don't usually post pics of me but I do love that background

But now I'm back and looking forward to catching up on all my favourite blogs!

Good News

Just a message for my friends to let you know all is good with my heart! I had the test today and fortunately I don't have a hole in my heart, yay. Not so fortunate news, I have to still live with my migraines! But you know what, that's ok though I can live with it.

Off for one more test tomorrow {just as an extra for some reason} but I'm all good.
