Zara Home

One consistent thing amongst all the girls at work is when any of us travel overseas Zara is a must stop to shop! To the point we don't actually want it to come to Australia because it is so much fun to look forward to when heading overseas.

To add to that excitement (well for me anyway) Zara has continued their design fabulousness with Zara Home *big grin*! Now there is alot of colour and whilst I love colour, I just don't use colour so much but I'm rethinking that. Here's some of my favourite finds and things I would instantly buy for my first little place. Not surprising they are grey, white, silver and yellow!

Remember I have been looking for knobs like these - FOUND!

Gypsy Knob

These knobs are cute and could look great on my plain white chest of drawers

Henri Knob

This lamp is gorgeous and 2 of them would look fab in my bedroom

Lewis Lamp

This is cute and too could look lovely in my bedroom

Marlowe Box

Again for my bedroom, the velvet would continue to bring that bit of luxe to the space

Vef Cushion

Ok so this is a little different but you know I like it for a bit of fun

Punk Tableware

This is the perfect cushion for my balcony. The balcony leads off my bedroom so I want to continue the colour theme of the bedroom and give it a more outdoors Hamptons feel

Reggie Cushion Grey

And with the same cushion but in my other favourite colour yellow, this would go out in the backyard setting (yet to buy!!) I would like to introduce some colour to the outside area

Reggie Cushion Yellow

So, who's off overseas next?? I'll give you my shopping list :p

Hotel - Crown Towers, Melbourne

When travelling for work, we get spoilt!

I stayed in one of Australia's luxury hotels during my trip to Melbourne this week and I highly suggest if you are visiting Melbourne, treat yourself and stay at The Crown Towers Hotel. It felt so lovely and that no-one had stayed there before me, it was so clean and comfortable. Beautiful big king size bed that I could have stayed in forever.

I loved the walk in robe

The bathroom was AMAZING. You entered through two big glass doors to find a very inviting bath with a TV at the end of it (LOVE this), both the toilet and shower were in their own glassed cubilcles. There were also 3 levels of lighting you could have too.

My running bath where I got to relax and watched Brothers and Sisters - heaven.......

This is the bar that is next to the walk in robe but you could see through from the robe into the room. Divided by this really nice chandelier.

These curtains are great and I was thinking of a similar idea for my bedroom but grey and white thick stripes instead.

Love this little sitting nook.

The view from my room looking over the Yarra River - so Melbourne.

A bit of travel

I'm signing off for a couple of weeks as I have to do some travel for work. I'm off to Melbourne tomorrow, will be back on the coast for a couple of days and then off to Sydney.

While it is for work, it should be fun. The best part is I get to see some really great people I just don't get to see often enough - you all know who you are!!

See you soon..........x

Colour Theory : Yellow

I've posted once before that yellow will be my accent colour that I use in my white living area. There's something I really love about yellow but only in small doses, all you need is a hint of it for a bit of "punch"!

Yellow shines with optimism, enlightenment, and happiness. Shades of golden yellow carry the promise of a positive future. Yellow will advance from surrounding colors and instill optimism and energy, as well as spark creative thoughts. How the color yellow affects us mentally and physically - Mentally stimulating, stimulates the nervous system, activates memory, encourages communication - sensational colour

Elle meet Louis....Louis meet Elle....

I was looking at the latest LV FW10 Runway show today at work which was held in Paris on the 10th March. Very impressed with the collection (am I ever disappointed Mr Jacobs??!) it is really nice.

However I was surprised to see our own Aussie Elle MacPherson walk the final look down the runway. I wouldn't think Marc would choose her but then again we have learnt to expect the unexpected with him. She looked great, so beautiful and young!

Celebrity Home - Tom Ford

So after being very impressed with Mr Ford at the Oscars in both the looks department and his presentation skills, I thought we could take a peak into the London home that this talented and very stylish man lives in (or lived in, I think it's up for sale). It has a very sophisticated masculine look, perfect for Mr Ford.

Red Carpet Oscars 2010

It's that time of year again - The Oscars. I love the Oscars, to me it still feels like old Hollywood Glamour. These are my favourite red carpet looks for this year :

Best Actress winner Sandra Bullock in Marchesa
She looks effortlessly glam

Rachel McAdams in Elie Saab
Love Rachel, love Elie Saab pefect match!

Sarah Jessica Parker in Chanel
Yes, I love this dress. The detailing at the top also features on the back. This is the type of dress I would wear

Miley Cyrus in Jenny Packham
I really like this, it's quite pretty but I can't help but think she looks a little older than she really is!

Maggie Gyllenhaal in Dries Van Noten
Now I like this because well she looks great. But she is wearing Dries Van Noten which in all honesty isn't the easiest label to wear but she pulls it off beautifully

E Presenter Guiliana Rancic in Tom Ford
She always looks great

Sam Worthington in Brioni and Natalie Mark
LOVE Sam and he looked hot especially when he put on his glasses - YUM! His girlfriend looks lovely too
Thanks for keeping it real Sam

Nicole Richie in Reem Acra and Joel Madden
Nicole always looks good to me, I love her style. I know this is debatable to many but that's just my opinion. I think they look good together.

Tom Ford in......Tom Ford
Hands down best dressed man of the night but are we surprised?

Would love to know what your favourites were.....?

Colour Theory : Grey

I was having a conversation with one of the girls at work today and she said she thinks grey as cold! Interesting. It's most likely a thought many people think. I think the opposite. Those of you who know, know I love Grey - love, love. Yes, it is my favourite colour. Not only does my wardrobe largely consist of grey pieces but of course I painted my bedroom Grey. It can be quite elegant but also very calming for me.

Gray is the color of intellect, knowledge, and wisdom. It is perceived as long-lasting, classic, and often as sleek or refined. It is a color that is dignified, conservative, and carries authority. Gray is controlled and inconspicuous and is considered a color of compromise, perhaps because it sits between the extremes of black and white. Gray is a perfect neutral, which is why designers often use it as a background color. - sensational colour

In my bedroom I used Resene Double Concrete and I love it. Looks great with the crisp white trims in Dulux Lexicon Quarter

Some of my favourite Grey room images giving me lots of inspiration
